ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Roanoke Police confirmed one person was taken to the hospital after a shooting Thursday night.

The shooting happened near Bridge Street SW and Roanoke Ave SW.

Crime scene tape blocked off the entire parking lot surrounding the 1 Stop Market that sits at that corner, just a few blocks away from an entry point to the Roanoke River Greenway.

Roanoke Police have not identified a suspect and said K-9 units are helping them as they investigate.
