The nationally-ranked Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (9-0, 4-0) will put their perfect record on the line Friday night when they visit Smith Field to face the Loyola Cubs (4-5, 1-3) in the Mission League regular-season finale for both squads.
Sierra Canyon’s dominant defense, which has posted five shutouts this season, flexed its muscle again last week in a commanding 40-0 victory at Bishop Amat. Senior quarterback Laird Finkel continued his stellar campaign with two touchdown passes while senior running back De’Markus Barnes punched in two scores on the ground during the rout.
The Cubs, led by junior playmakers Kane Casani, Tobias Thuss and Gavin Grabe, face a daunting challenge as they look to bounce back from consecutive blowout losses, including last week’s 52-0 defeat at Chaminade. Hist
