Two men have been arrested after an overnight shooting that damaged a home in Surrey, B.C., according to police.

Surrey Police Service (SPS) spokesperson Sgt. Tige Pollock said the incident appears to be related to ongoing extortion investigations.

Pollock said it marks the 39th extortion-related shooting in Surrey this year.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 2 a.m. Thursday at a residence near 56 Avenue and King George Boulevard.

The home appeared to have been damaged by gunshots, Pollock said.

"Due to their quick response ... [officers] were able to locate a suspect vehicle with two suspects," Pollock said.
