Port Adelaide have cut ties with club champion Warren Tredrea and officially removed him from their board.

7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary revealed Tredrea had been ousted by fellow directors after an extensive review following controversial comments made on his podcast in June.

Comments made by British Army veteran AJ Roberts on an episode of Tredrea’s podcast caused outrage in the Jewish community and sparked the club investigation.

The club confirmed Tredrea’s departure on Friday, slamming the former player for refusing to issue a public apology.

“Following that review, the board sought to engage with Tredrea to agree certain actions to be taken by him in his capacity as a director,” the club said in a statement.
