LOS ANGELES ( WBRC ) - A former Hollywood producer has been sentenced in the 2021 deaths of an Alabama native and another woman.
A judge in Los Angeles sentenced 43-year-old David Pearce to 146 years to life in prison after he was convicted on two murder charges stemming from the deaths of 24-year-old model and aspiring actress Christy Giles - a Gardendale native - and her 26-year-old friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola.
Pearce was also convicted on seven separate sexual assault charges involving seven different women.
Back in November 2021, officials said Pearce gave Giles and Cabrales-Arzola GHB, also known as the date rape drug, along with fentanyl, causing the two women to fatally overdose at a Los Angeles apartment.
