SPRINGFIELD — With over ten minutes to go in the second quarter, Springfield International Charter School quarterback Jordan Nguyen threw a pass that was instantly batted down by a Commerce defensive lineman.

Nguyen’s incomplete pass happened to be his only pass attempt of the night, because with torrential downpour, the Bulldogs had to go ground-and-pound all 48 minutes — and it worked to perfection.
