SPOKANE, Wash - Spokane Representative Michael Baumgartner (WA-05) is criticizing Democrats, saying they are responsible for the government remaining shut down and SNAP funds expiring.
Congressman Baumgartner's team responded to inquiries with a statement, saying, "Republicans have consistently voted to keep SNAP funded and the government open, while Democrats have repeatedly said no, voting 13 times to keep the government shut down and block help for struggling families."
Baumgartner expressed frustration, saying, "It's time to stop the stunts, stop the dishonesty and reopen the government now."
Despite the blame game, both parties have proposed legislation.
