McKINNEY – Special teams were a roller coaster for the Frisco Heritage football team during Thursday’s District 5-5A Division I bout against McKinney North.
The Coyotes battled some hardships in that phase, not converting their first successful point-after try until 7:28 remained in the third quarter. But Heritage was able to relegate those miscues to the rearview mirror in the closing seconds of a dizzying shootout with the Bulldogs that saw both teams combine for 95 points and 977 yards – all culminating in a 36-yard field goal by junior Nolan Fitzgerald with six seconds remaining to lift Heritage to a 49-46 victory over North from McKinney ISD Stadium.
