While the government had already provided a one-month extension earlier, representations from several regions highlighted difficulties in finalising audit work following floods and natural calamities that disrupted normal business operations, data access, and accounting processes. Responding to these concerns, the CBDT has now pushed the tax audit report deadline to November 10, and the return filing deadline for audit cases to December 10.
