TUSTIN — When it comes to consistency, few can match La Habra’s football program.
The Highlanders secured a CIF-SS playoff spot for the 24th consecutive season with a 40-7 rout of Foothill on Thursday night in an Epsilon League finale at Tustin High.
La Habra (7-3, 3-2) finished third in the Epsilon after winning it last season. The Highlanders had played the previous four decades in the Freeway League.
La Habra coach Frank Mazzotta, in his 28th season leading the Highlanders, said the program’s consistency has been his proudest achievement.
“Every year we’re competitive, regardless of what your talent level is,” he said. “We’re going to be competitive and we’re going to battle for a league title and let the chips fall.”
