SAN ANTONIO _ After a surprisingly easy 48-26 trouncing of favored Tulane on Thursday night, Texas-San Antonio coach Jeff Traylor said he took offense at comments from Green Wave coach Jon Sumrall and quarterback Jake Retzlaff earlier in the week.
Specifically, he did not like Sumrall’s assertion the Roadrunners piped-in crowd noise past the point it was allowed . He was less clear about what irked him from Retzlaff, who was mic’d up for ESPN’s broadcast before the game.
“We’re a team that felt extremely disrespected,” Traylor said. “A coach that said we’ve basically been cheating the last six years, which disrespects everything we've done in this place for six years, in my opinion.
