Four people have been charged and $2.3 million of illicit tobacco seized in a week of targeted police action on NSW's Far North Coast.
NSW Police teamed with NSW Health and the Australian Border Force's Illicit Tobacco Task Force for the operation, which netted more than 18,000 vapes, 1.9 million illicit cigarettes, 74kg of loose-leaf tobacco, and five unregistered guns.
The operation took place between this Monday, October 27, and yesterday, October 30, at Mullumbimby.
At 9am on Wednesday, a 27-year-old man was arrested at a local storage shed.
Police then carried out search warrants at three storage units and two homes in Mullumbimby.
At the storage units, officers seized over 17,000 vapes, more than 1.8 million illicit cigarettes, and 63kg of loose-leaf tobacco.
