UPDATE: Rohit Arya was shot dead by police, according to the latest reports.

Mumbai police on Thursday rescued 19 people, including 17 children, who were lured to RA Studio near the L&T building in Powai under the guise of a web series audition.

The victims, who were held hostage, were handed over to their guardians after a rescue operation that lasted an hour. The children included boys and girls who were aged around 15.
