Junior running back Cole DeNick scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter in third-seeded Kingsway’s, No. 15 in the NJ.com Top 20, 23-14 victory over sixth-seeded Eastern in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA / Xfinity South Jersey, Group 5 playoffs in Woolwich Township.
Senior quarterback David Oravetz scored two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground, for Kingsway.
Oravetz found wide receiver Christian White on an 18-yard touchdown reception, giving Kingsway a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Eastern stormed back, tying the game 14-14 late in the second quarter behind two touchdowns by wide receiver Vincent Rosa, one from 38 yards and another from 82 yards.
