A father was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday, just hours after the family home was destroyed in a fire, 6ABC Philadelphia reported.
Roberto “Peto” Vidanos, of Pleasantville, was crossing a street on Tuesday night when he was hit by a car, his wife, Veronica Sanzhez, told the news station.
The crash left Vidanos with two broken legs, a broken arm and pelvis and a fractured spine. He has since undergone surgery at a nearby hospital, she said.
At about 5:45 a.m. that day, Vidano’s home on Wesley Avenue went up in flames.
The fire quickly spread and it took crews until 8:52 a.m. to have it under control, according to a statement from the Pleasantville Fire Department. Eight adults and two children were displaced.
