Herbert Hoover hosts Parkersburg on Friday in an enticing nonconference football game that has playoff implications for both squads.
The Huskies were defeated by Class AA No. 1 Frankfort last Friday, which dropped them to No. 7 in the Class AAA playoff ratings. The top eight teams in each class entering the playoffs receive choice of site in the first round.
Meanwhile, Parkersburg has won two in a row since a 35-3 loss at Huntington, including last Friday’s win over Class AAA No. 18 Ripley.
The Big Reds (5-4) are looking for a home playoff game as well. They're ranked No. 9 in Class AAAA.
Hoover (6-2) will be trying to defeat the Big Reds for the first time in three tries. Parkersburg won the 1999 and 2000 meetings by a combined 119-22.
