Telangana Speaker | Hyderabad, Oct. 31: The Telangana Legislative Assembly Secretary has sought an additional two months from the Supreme Court to complete hearings on the disqualification petitions filed against ten MLAs who defected from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to the ruling Congress .

The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Speaker to decide on the disqualification cases within three months from its July 31 order.

The court had also ruled that delays in such cases undermine democratic values , stating that the “ Operation successful, patient dead ” approach should not apply to defection matters.
