MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- It’s Friday, and we are bringing you News 8's High School Football Game of the Week. The viewers voted and chose New Britain at Maloney High School in Meriden.

The voting was not even close. With two other games on the list, the viewers chose this game with a whopping 57% of the vote.

On paper, these teams are very evenly matched. They’re both 5-1, and they played a thriller last year.

In that game, it was all tied up at 14 in the 4th quarter when Maloney kicked a field goal to go up by three. But late in the game, New Britain’s Jayden Allen punches one in to win. Allen is back this year and is even better.

This year, the Golden Hurricanes' one loss came at the hands of a dominant Fairfield prep team.
