**Andrew Stripped of Titles as Royal Family Takes Action** Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Andrew has been officially removed from the peerage roll, marking a significant step in stripping him of his royal titles. The announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that Andrew has been asked to vacate Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion in Windsor, as part of the King's efforts to distance the monarchy from the controversies surrounding him.

The Palace stated that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been struck from the official roll of the peerage. This decision follows mounting pressure from King Charles III and Prince William, as well as public scrutiny regarding Andrew's connections to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and allegations of sexual abuse made by Virginia Giuffre. Andrew has consistently denied these allegations.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace noted, "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation."

The King has agreed to privately fund Andrew's new living arrangements, while Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who also resided at Royal Lodge, will need to find her own housing. The decision to remove Andrew's titles was influenced by what the Palace described as serious lapses in his judgment, although he continues to deny any wrongdoing.

The formal process to strip Andrew of his titles began with the King sending Royal Warrants to the Lord Chancellor, which allows for the removal of the Dukedom of York from the peerage roll without the need for an Act of Parliament. This action also affects his other titles, including Earl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh. However, the changes will not impact his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The Palace emphasised that their thoughts remain with the victims and survivors of abuse, stating, "These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him." The developments signal a significant shift in the royal family's approach to handling controversies surrounding its members.
