STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A wind advisory is in effect for Staten Island from noon until midnight Friday, with gusts up to 45 mph expected during Halloween activities, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents should secure outdoor decorations and be cautious of potentially dangerous conditions while trick-or-treating.
The strongest winds are forecast to occur Friday afternoon and evening, with sustained values close to 30 mph and gusts reaching 45 mph. Isolated peak gusts of 45 to 50 mph are possible across Staten Island and the NYC metro area.
The National Weather Service warns these conditions could impact Halloween celebrations, particularly during evening hours when winds will still be rather strong through midnight.
Temperatures on Friday will reach the 50s during the day
