On a sunny September weekend, the sweet and distinct scent of two-stroke oil fumes gently wafted through the air on a privately owned campground in Vermontville, a village nestled between Lansing and Grand Rapids. That's where the Mid-Michigan Trials Club (one of six clubs under the Michigan Ontario Trials Association, or M.O.T.A. umbrella) hosted a two-day event, starting with a vintage trials fun competition on Saturday and the official trials competition on Sunday.
