Grief is hard, let’s just start with that. It is a very uncomfortable, universal thing that we all have to go through, and I was very naive for a long time to think that I wouldn’t ever lose anyone close to me. What’s that saying? “Grief is the price we pay for love”… or something like that?

Yes, that is true, but what I’d have loved even more is if grief came with a manual for when you’re unsure of what to do, how to function and how to react to certain things. Especially for feeling guilty when good things were happening in my life, whilst I was also managing my grief .

Someone could just shout, “Oi, Ginge, go to chapter seven: Feeling guilty when you celebrate wins”‘, or when you’d see a photo on your phone of someone you’d lost, a person could lean over, roll their eyes and say,
