The Sherwood Bowmen (6-2) play host to the Newberg Tigers (5-3) in a Week 9 Oregon high school football showdown.
Coach Mark Gribble’s Bowmen are 4-0 in the Pacific Conference and would clinch the outright conference championship with a win. Sherwood has won five in a row, including a 41-14 victory at Liberty last Friday. For the season, the Bowmen have outscored their opponents 225-182.
The Tigers, coached by Jeremy Johnson, are tied for second place in the Pacific standings with a 3-1 conference record. Newberg had won four in a row before losing 42-34 to Glencoe last Friday. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 285-194 this season.
