Southern Company reported another large profit in its quarterly earnings report, released on Thursday, for the period from July to September.

Southern Company has nine million customers across multiple states in the Southeast, including Alabama. Alabama Power is a subsidiary of Southern Company.

Southern Company reported third-quarter earnings of $1.7 billion, or $1.55 per share, in 2025 compared with earnings of $1.5 billion, or $1.40 per share, in the third quarter of 2024. For the first nine months of 2025, Southern Company reported earnings of $3.93 billion, or $3.56 per share, compared with $3.87 billion, or $3.53 per share, for the same period in 2024.
