TIMBERLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) - The Timberlake Police Department welcomed their very first K9 last week.

K9 Luka was officially sworn in on Oct. 21 and her partner is Officer Jason Keeler.

“This is a huge asset to the village as well as Lake County,” said Timberlake Police Chief Nick Dolbin.

K9 Luka, a three year old Belgian Malinois/Dutch Sheppard mix, is trained for both apprehension and narcotics detection.

Chief Dolbin said he was also awarded grants for body worn cameras and body armor.
