WASHINGTON — Dulles Expo Center will close at the end of this year, making room for a new IKEA location in Chantilly.
The Washington Business Journal first reported that the IKEA was coming to the same address as the Expo Center in September, and now, it's official — the event space will be shutting its doors for good.
After the final eight events planned at the Expo Center this year, it will be closing down. The last event will be Greenberg’s Train & Toy Show, on Dec. 20 and 21.
In a press release Thursday, IKEA announced the new nearly 110,000 square-foot store featuring more than 7,700 products. It will be the third traditional store in the D.C. area, joining stores in Woodbridge and College Park. There are also three smaller "plan and order" stores in the DMV. But though the new
