A powerful wind event will create dangerous conditions across the Lehigh Valley on Halloween, with sustained winds of 20-35 mph and potentially damaging gusts up to 45-50 mph expected throughout Friday afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory that covers Lehigh, Northampton and Warren counties until midnight Friday, warning residents of potential tree damage and power outages.
The strong westerly winds are driven by a departing low-pressure system, with the most intense conditions likely occurring between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Rainfall from the system totaled as much as 2 inches in Bethlehem and 1.86 inches in Bath on Thursday, according to reports filed with the National Weather Service .
Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid to upper 50s
