While Halloween is known for being spooky, scary and fun, there are important safety reminders to know before going out trick-or-treating Friday night.

While this is not the age of finding dangerous objects in candy anymore, there is still good reason to go through kids’ candy, according to Hastings Police Captain Jason Haase. He said parents should make sure all candy is from a trusted source and that they might need some for themselves, too. Haase also said it is important to make sure children can see out of their costumes and there is nothing they could trip on.
