The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is optimistic that the Asia Cup winners’ Trophy will arrive at its headquarters in Mumbai “within a day or two". However, if the deadlock persists, the Indian Board plans to escalate the issue to the ICC on November 4.

India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final in Dubai to win the Asia Cup but declined to accept the trophy from Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as ACC and PCB chairman.

This decision followed India skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s refusal to shake hands with his Pakistan counterpart due to the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

Naqvi has already stated that the trophy can be handed over to India but insists on presenting it himself.
