SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Halloween is the holiday of spooky and scary things, but it’s best to make sure those frights stay pretend.
Springfield Police give some advice on how to stay safe this Halloween. As you get ready to trick-or-treat, you’ll want to check your costume first. If it has a mask, make sure it doesn’t make it hard for you to see oncoming traffic if you need to cross the road. Whether you want to be something dark and scary or something pretty and magical, make sure your costume is reflective in some way so drivers can see you more easily.
“One of the cool things about Halloween,” said SPD officer Brandan Locke, “is people get creative and they get to be artsy, so being able to go to a craft store and get some sort of reflective or disco-style lining to be able to sew in
