Quinn Hughes has now missed three games and you can tell. The dynamic wizard’s feats with the pucks are never more noticeable than when they aren’t there at all.
In the nine games the Canucks’ captain played before going on the shelf with an undisclosed lower-body injury, there’s little doubt he is the Canucks’ most influential player. He constantly has the puck on his stick when he on the ice and, in the past, that’s always led to great things.
But when you dig into the numbers this season, you find a surprising thing: He’s struggling defensively.
Like, to a point that makes you wonder if maybe people who kept asking, “Is Quinn Hughes OK? He looks off,” were on to something.
