ALTON, Iowa (KCAU) — Locals in Alton, Iowa, have been hearing and seeing fire trucks fly by their homes. But in fact, you'll find no real emergencies happening in the town. In reality, it's an event where these Alton firefighters are both delivering pizzas and some life-saving advice.
The Alton Fire Department teamed up with the Pizza Ranch in Orange City to host their annual Fire Truck Delivery Night on Thursday. All orders were dropped off by fire trucks with their lights and sirens on. The unique pizza delivery gave fire officials a chance to provide safety tips during fire prevention month.
Alton Fire Chief Quintin Van Es says it's important to ensure homes are equipped for the worst-case scenario.
