New Delhi, Oct 31: India is strengthening partnerships with Africa in the critical minerals sector, focusing on inclusive prosperity and collaborative initiatives rather than extraction.
At the CII India–Africa Business Conclave, officials emphasized the importance of local industrialization, job creation, and joint ventures with African nations to enhance long-term value from resources.
India has pledged preferential access for African exports and aims to double bilateral trade by 2030, expanding beyond mining into manufacturing and technology.
South African officials highlighted challenges such as job losses and insufficient infrastructure in resource-rich countries, advocating for improvements in local processing and investment.
