In a big relief for FASTag users, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has made important changes to the rules that make the system easier, safer, and more convenient for everyone. Now, banks will not be allowed to close or deactivate a user’s FASTag account without first informing them. The changes also include a simpler “Know Your Vehicle” (KYV) process so that users don’t have to struggle with unnecessary paperwork or confusing steps.
Until now, many customers faced issues when their FASTag accounts were suddenly closed by banks, sometimes without any notice. This caused delays and confusion at toll plazas. To solve this, NHAI has issued new guidelines that make it mandatory for banks to inform customers before disconnecting their FASTag accounts.
