Carlos Ralph Miller-Smith (31) appeared in federal court earlier this week, charged with involuntary manslaughter following a fatal shooting on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.

Miller-Smith is a resident of the reservation and has also been charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

The Victim Had a Gunshot Wound to the Temple

Court documents reveal that on Saturday, the Warm Springs Police Department responded to a shooting at a residence within the exterior boundaries of the reservation. They found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the temple.

The police detained Miller-Smith after a witness identified him as the shooter. The victim died from the injuries the following morning.
