Ryan Seacrest has shared some devastating news.

On Friday (October 31), the 50-year-old Wheel of Fortune host announced that his dad Gary Lee Seacrest has passed away. Earlier this year, Ryan revealed that his dad was battling prostate cancer.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week,” Ryan wrote. “My mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering. We are heartbroken.”

Along with his message, Ryan shared photos of Gary with their family, including wife Constance Marie Zullinger , Ryan ’s sister Meredith Seacrest , her husband Jimmy Leach and their daughter Flora .
