Fourteen Apache Junction-area residents recently were appointed or reappointed as volunteer members to various city boards and commissions.
After interviewing candidates during a work session Oct. 20, council members on Oct. 21 made separate motions for each position open. Most were unanimous approvals but three were not.
Mayor Chip Wilson thanked all who applied for a spot on a board or commission to serve the city of Apache Junction and its residents.
“This is a great way to influence how our city development and growth occur and to ensure the vision is for the future,” he said.
A total of 26 applications were received this year, which was a record, City Clerk Evie McKinney said.
“We’re super thrilled with that many,” she said.
