NEW PALESTINE – There was a time when Desmond Palmer was ready to quit football. A few times, actually.

It might seem crazy now, considering Palmer’s role as a team captain for one of the most dominant teams in recent high school football history. But Palmer was not always that guy. In middle school at New Palestine, he was a B’team player who rarely saw the field. As a freshman, he did not even start on the freshman team.
