A Louisville Metro Council member wants to keep law enforcement officers from concealing their faces while working — a proposal that stems from reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement wearing masks while carrying out operations across the country.
District 6 Councilman JP Lyninger 's proposed change to Louisville's existing ordinance that places restrictions on mask-wearing in public was introduced to the Louisville Metro Council Oct. 30. The proposal would not remove any language in the current ordinance. Instead, it proposes to add language that specifies local, state and federal law enforcement officers cannot wear a facial covering unless they are actively working undercover.
