OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Five people, including an Omaha city employee, appeared in court in connection to an ongoing criminal investigation into sex trafficking on Friday.
All suspects appeared in either Douglas County or federal court on Friday morning.
A search warrant was served Thursday at the City of Omaha Finance Department . One of the accountants, Amy M. Hicks, 39, who works in the department, was arrested.
According to the criminal complaint, Hicks was charged with six felony counts, including possession of child porn, pandering, conspiracy to commit felony sex trafficking, visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct, keeping a place of prostitution, and evading income tax.
Prosecutors said they believe Hicks was the “lynchpin” of the group. Her bond was set at $10 million.
