Allen County Democrats are calling for City Clerk Lana Keesling to resign.
Party Chairman Chad Wierzbinski said at a press conference today Keesling is disenfranchising voters.
" Keesling’s second job is Chairwoman of the Indiana Republican Party," he said. "As party chair, she has gleefully supported President Trump’s demands, giving her ‘absolute support’ to the mid-cycle gerrymandering movement."
Keesling was elected chair of the Indiana Republican Party in February. Historically, elected officials who lead state parties have resigned from their elected positions to avoid any appearance of conflicts of interest, Wierzbinski said. State party leaders are influential in where campaign funding goes.
