Law enforcement agencies are urging families to be smart this Halloween in order to enjoy spooky fun without the frights. “A few simple steps can keep the ‘tricks’ away so you can focus on the ‘treats’:
Light it up – Keep outdoor lights on at night to deter unwanted visitors. Bonus: it helps trick-or-treaters find your door safely;
Lock it down – Doors, windows, sheds, and garages—make sure they’re locked before you head out or head to bed;
See something, say something – If you spot something suspicious in your neighborhood, give Dispatch a call;
Fire fright – Be cautious with candles and jack-o-lanterns. Battery-powered candles make your décor spooky AND safe.”
