At least 15 to 20 were taken to the hospital after a flight control issue caused a plane to suddenly drop in altitude.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the incident occurred on JetBlue Flight 1230 from Cancun International Airport in Mexico to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport on Thursday.
The Airbus A320 made an emergency landing in Tampa around 2:19 p.m. after dropping about 100 feet in seven seconds.
Two children and 12 adults were taken to Tampa’s St. Joseph’s Hospital with minor injuries, and all have been discharged, a hospital spokesperson told CNN.
The airline said it would conduct a full investigation to determine the cause.
