Actress Suzanne Rogers, best known for playing Maggie Horton on the daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” announced she was been diagnosed with Stage II colorectal cancer earlier this year.

In an interview with TV Insider , Rogers, 82, said that while she had been getting colonoscopies regularly, she recently felt that “something wasn’t right” with her body.

After making a doctor’s appointment and having various. tests done, she got the bad news from her doctor.

“He said, ‘You have cancer and you have to start treatment,’” Rogers said. “It was all a shock. I mean, I think I was in a shock for several days because I take pretty good care of myself. But he said, ‘It’s a good thing you caught it in time.’”
