Though Dolphins general manager Chris Grier is gone following the team’s 2-7 start, Mike McDaniel won’t be joining him for the time being.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided a major update on McDaniel’s future, saying the coach will be safe for “at least” the remainder of 2025.

“Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel will remain Miami’s head coach for the remainder of the season at least, per sources,” Schefter reported.

In McDaniel’s four seasons at the helm, Miami is 30-30 and the Dolphins are still seeking their first playoff win under him. It’s unlikely to come this season barring a massive turnaround.

Following a 28-6 loss to the Ravens on Thursday Night Football, the Dolphins opted to “mutually part ways” with Grier, who’d been Miami’s general manager since 2016.
