KINGSTON — A city councillor is seeking ways to make life easier for local businesses.

Trillium Dist. Coun. Jimmy Hassan is to put forward a motion asking city staff to return to council early next year with a report about streamlining the city’s licensing policies.

Hassan’s motion asked that council receive “information on a streamlined licensing and approval processes, to ensure better coordination between building and fire services and to ensure that municipal services remain responsive to the evolving needs of Kingston’s business community.”

The motion acknowledges the city’s ongoing review of service delivery across its departments.
