In the coldest and rainiest day of the senior varsity football season so far, the St. Joseph’s Secondary School Panthers narrowly eked out a victory against the ‘École secondaire catholique La Citadelle Patriotes on Thursday.
Neither team could dominate in the first three periods, but the Panthers took on three penalties to the Patriotes’ one. Ah’Werrie Bacon-Lazore was called for unnecessary roughness, Wyatt Bartch was called for objectionable conduct and Lazore took on a face mask penalty. The Pats’ Jack Lalonde was called for unnecessary roughness.
In the fourth quarter, the Panthers managed to secure a six-point touchdown, and made the kick, helping them take the lead with only a few minutes on the clock.
