Ridiculousness -- the MTV clip show that has run for 14 years and 46 seasons -- will be canceled, per multiple sources.
Amid reports of layoffs as the Paramount and Skydance merger goes through, there's this news of the hilarious clip show that was on much of the cable channel's schedule for a while.
According to Deadline, there won't be anymore original episodes produced and previous seasons will air.
Why did this happen? Per Deadline: "The company is working to reimagine MTV for the future, we hear, with a more curated slate featuring fresh formats, different creative voices and refreshed programming."
There you have it. End of an era.
How much does Rob Dyrdek make from Ridiculousness?
From USA TODAY:
The news comes after Bloomberg reported that MTV was paying Dyrdek "at least" $32.5 million, according to bankruptcy court documents reviewed by the business news outlet. He could have made more than $45 million a year if the series had been renewed in 2028 and 2029, the outlet reports. Superjacket Productions, Dyrdek's production company, filed for bankruptcy last month.
