ST. PAUL, Minn. — The State of Minnesota's Medical Assistance Housing Stabilization Services program has officially ended due to widespread fraud, as confirmed by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The program, launched in 2020, aimed to assist seniors and individuals with disabilities, including those with substance use disorders, in securing housing.
Shireen Gandhi, the temporary Human Services Commissioner, expressed disappointment over the program's termination. "It’s upsetting that we had to take this step to stop criminals from taking advantage of services intended to help people," Gandhi said.
