BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) has shared the SNAP assistance schedule for November. Eligible households include the elderly, disabled, or children.
LDH said households with only able-bodied adults will not receive state-funded emergency assistance. However, any unused SNAP benefits from previous months will remain available on recipients’ EBT cards.
Eligible households will get state-funded emergency help on their regular benefit day. They will also receive extra payments every seven days in November, as long as the shutdown continues.
For example, if a household receives a monthly benefit of $200, the program will distribute payments as follows: • Nov. 1: $50 (25%) • Nov. 8: $50 (25%) • Nov. 15: $50 (25%) • Nov. 22: $50 (25%)
